Clinical and recognisable

This mode of action was interesting because in reality, most of the molecules and enzymes don't actually have a true shape, so that couldn't really inform the design. Instead the concept of creating objects that worked 'in harmony' influenced the design; metallic objects reacting and interacting. Sound played a big part in the piece; the interactions between the molecules and the various sound fx from their interactions emphasised the concept of being in harmony.

Shader tests

To hit the metallic feel of the various molecules. Some molecules needed to feel clean and sleek, whilst others needed to feel rough, taking into consideration their sound vs the texture of each asset. We rendered out some shader tests to nail this before we started building the assets for animation.
