Concept and design

We had a good idea of what we wanted to achieve for this piece- something structural and urban, at night and from a low view point looking up to give perspective and to add to the sense of scale. We gave Rob a couple of scamps and set him loose! What he came back with was spectacularly perfect. Meantime, we got on with designing our character.

Testing & compostiting

After some initial tests for lighting, we started to build our marionette character (inspired by the great Royale de Luxe). 

We had all of Robs lighting data and HDRs for reference, which is a must when your compositing a character, be it in a still or live scene.
